Remember when the housing bubble started to burst in late 2007?By September 2008, both Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac had experienced heavy losses and were placed into conservatorship. The government then advanced them a whopping $190 billion of taxpayer money to keep them afloat. At the time, this action was described as “one of the most sweeping government interventions in private financial markets in decades.” Turns out, the drama wasn’t over. In fact, it was just getting started…

Iran’s foreign minister on Thursday shot back at Pompeo`s Wednesday remarks from Jeddah characterizing the Aramco attacks as an "act of war" by Iran. FM Javad Zarif warned of "all-out war" if the US or Saudis attack Tehran in response. “We won’t blink to defend our territory,” Zarif told CNN. Though the White House is said to be weighing "options" — including "substantially increased" sanctions which Trump announced this week, the consensus is the administration is cautiously walking back from a war footing.

A new report has said that the real United States national debt could be well over what politicians tell us it is. At a whopping $400 trillion, the U.S. debt would be 2,000% of GDP (gross domestic product) according to new calculations that include the federal government, state, local, financial, and so-called entitlement debt. AB Bernstein, a global asset management firm based on Wall Street, came up with these figures by including in its analysis not only traditional levels of public debt, such as bonds but also financial debt as well as future obligations for entitlement programs, according to a report by CNBC. These include social security, Medicare and public pensions and are often left out of the discussion. They are unfunded liabilities, however, and should be included if we’re to get an appropriate understanding of the government’s mishandling of money.

10 years after a blowup in the private-label MBS market nearly brought down the global banking system, the biggest, most systemically important banks (who were ultimately forced to accept a government bailout and a round of consolidation during the fallout) have apparently decided that enough time has passed, and that now would be a good time to revive it, as they close deals on billions in newly issued mortgage-backed bonds, WSJ reports.

President says he’s ‘locked and loaded’ to attack Iran. As President Trump warned that the US is “locked and loaded” to respond to the drone attack on Saudi Arabia’s oil supply this past weekend, Senator Rand Paul warned that hitting Iran would be a “big mistake.” Appearing on CNN, Paul warned that any attack on Iran would constitute a “needless escalation” of war. “The Iraq War, President Trump has said, was the biggest geopolitical blunder of the last generation,” Paul said. “It destabilized the Middle East and increased the strength of Iran and tipped the balance toward Iran,” the Senator added.

Personally, I do not care. I don’t care if Trump fired Bolton over an argument about which Sesame Street characters would win in a bare knuckle boxing match. I don’t care if Bolton was carried bodily out of the White House by a strong gust of wind. Trying to sort out the specifics of the drama in an administration packed with lying sociopaths is always an exercise in futility, and in this case it’s even more pointless, because all that matters is that John Bolton is gone now.

Vital questions about perhaps the worst alleged presidential scandal in US history remain unanswered...It must again be emphasized: It is hard, if not impossible, to think of a more toxic allegation in American presidential history than the one leveled against candidate, and then president, Donald Trump that he “colluded” with the Kremlin in order to win the 2016 presidential election—and, still more, that Vladimir Putin’s regime, “America’s No. 1 threat,” had compromising material on Trump that made him its “puppet.” Or a more fraudulent accusation. Even leaving aside the misperception that Russia is the primary threat to America in world affairs, no aspect of this allegation has turned out to be true, as should have been evident from the outset.

Donald Trump has recently ordered US corporations to move production out of China and into the US. Easier said than done!—or, rather, undone. Moving production to China (and, in case of IT, to India) allowed US corporations to benefit from the large wage differential and an easier regulatory environment in order to be more profitable. They spent these excess profits by buying back their own stock, paying generous dividends to their shareholders and using their artificially inflated stock prices to justify exorbitant executive salaries and bonuses.

President Trump does nothing like his predecessors (except for his model, Andrew Jackson), thereby destabilising his partners. The « Deal of the Century » that he dreamed up for Palestine angered President Abbas, who interpreted it from the point of view of previous US propositions. Could he have been wrong? President Donald Trump has declared several times that his method of government was enough to solve many different conflicts, and that he even hoped, during the course of his mandate (or mandates), to attain peace between the Palestinians and the Israëlis.

Whatever your bias or special interest, it’s important to understand what’s going on here which is beyond markets and politics. The world is changing at a pace so fast few can understand what’s really going on. Taking into account the fact that the world is not presented in real form (fake news) it becomes even more confusing to the average reader. We have touched on this in our book Splitting Pennies and want to dive deeper here. Trump is a good example because he’s the first politician that’s not a politician.

Billionaire money manager Jeffery Epstein has been arrested for sex trafficking and other charges in New York this week. He reportedly catered to top world leaders, politicians and business executives on his private island, reportedly called “Orgy Island.” The case is way more than one billionaire’s lust for underage girls. It could deliver a significant blow to the global elite of a magnitude that has never happened before in history.

From the moment I heard Jeffrey Epstein had been arrested I knew none of us had anything close to the real story. And, by the time this is over, I don’t think we’ll have anything close to the real story either. That shouldn’t, however, keep us from picking through the bread crumbs and see where they lead us. I wrote previously that I thought this story would lead to Hillary Clinton. The MAGA crowd loved that. Regardless of whether Hillary winds up being the target is irrelevant. What I wrote the other day I still feel is the most likely situation.

Today on TRUNEWS we discuss the shocking arrest of politically connected pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, who allegedly ran an international sex trafficking ring which serviced and blackmailed political elite such as Bill Clinton and Prince Andrew.
